Today was not very
exciting. It took until noon to get the last post uploaded on the blog site and
here. The photos were painfully slow. We need to get a booster rocket that gets
hauled up the mast and can enhance the internet signal.
We cleaned p the
boat and invited the other two boats to join us for happy hour. We went to
shore and started to walk to the retail shops for this end of the island but
after walking a block through basically a subdivision, I lost interest and we
came back. There is probably nothing I need or could afford if the shops were
for the casino crowd.
So we laughed and
talked and watched the barges dumping rock and sand for the new private island,
and speculated about how quiet it would be tonight because all the students had
left. Then we watched the huge barge
back out of the slip and turn around without running over us.
Tomorrow it is
going to be just as windy and stormy, so we will be stuck here for another day.
Not sure I will ever make it to the Turks!
Not going to even try to load pics until we have
better Internet. If I could remember my F/B password I could install it on Rick’s
I-Pad and go to shore to do it.
Have a good one!
March 12-13
And now I'm 2 days behind, but it has been the same. Windy and not good for sailing. Of course we have been at anchor for 5 days now and our batteries are very low. We have been trying for two days to figure out the problem. The battery guy Rick finally talked to is at a loss as well. They are new (December) and should be fine but the Specific gravity is very low. Shep on High ZZ's said it sounds like there is too much acid in them, which is just great. That means we can't extract it and if they put too much in when they charged them, the plates are probably eaten. We can gt them to charge enough to run the fridge and freezer but that's about it, and we are using the fuel to run the engine for no reason because we aren't going anywhere!
But today we are all going to the market. The produce ship came in
yesterday. We are going to rent a golf cart [ode of transportation
here], get fresh veg's and watch it rain south of us. But we'll close
the hatches just in case. Sigh. It's not all fun, guys! There's still a
lot of work involved. Yesterday I did all the laundry by hand. ttyl
OK, I'm sitting on the cabin top... the only place I can pick up the
internet. It's going to rain on us too, in a minute, and it's cloudy so I
can actually see the screen. Let's see if these pics will download.
This barge came that close! He was pulling out and I think we re in his
turnaround spot.
I guess it has to be stormy for the internet to work!!

Can't get the rest to load and the sun is up so I can't see the screen.will try later... ttyl
