Orillia Wednesday

October 1 Wednesday

Well, today we are at a dock in Orillia. We could have gone further... we got here at noon but we had an amazing afternoon!

So, the bridge guy got there at 9:50 and opened up for us. Twenty minutes later we were at the first lock. No sweat. It was a simple easy trip to Orillia.

The sky has been grey all day with no end in sight. We decided to stay here for the night because I called Alf Stong (for those of you who don’t know/remember, he is Dad’s cousin ) so we spent the afternoon having a great talk with Alf and Raymonde. AND they are planning a Stong family reunion next year at Pioneer Village! [For those of you who don’t know the connection, Dad’s mother was a Stong] We are planning to go... are you?  Sorry, that was for family!

So we are going to have a real shower and top our water tanks and take off as soon as we get up tomorrow.  We can cross Lake Simcoe and make the next three or four locks before 3:30 pm. Then we only have 36 to go! Hopefully it will be a better i.e. sunnier day tomorrow.

Hope all is well with everyone , ttyl  Susan & Rick

ope all is weel, and everyone is good. HH
