Rainy Thursday Nov 6

Thursday Nov 5

This morning is rainy and gloomy, and although the north wind would be very helpful in getting down to Cape May, being soaking wet would not. Even going as far as Ocean City [8 miles] would be a soggy trip and if we can’t guarantee a dock [we don’t want to pay more than $3.00/ft] we won’t be able to plug in the heater and dry out.

There in a huge storm system crossing out to the Atlantic and it doesn’t look like it will be any better tomorrow so we are staying here again. We can clean up and work on other jobs inside.

There are four HUMUNGOUS sailboats sitting here in the Marina. One is called “Oceans of Hope” It is being sailed by people who are suffering from MS. It was started by a Scandinavian doctor to bring awareness and promote research for the disease.

Another one arrived today from Rhode Island called “Impromtu” on its way to the Bahamas with a delivery crew of 4. It’s a 65 foot Hatteras.  A 65 foot Pride called Oasis with a crew of 3 from Newport is on its way to Florida. There is also a 50 footer across the dock also on its way south.

A HUGE drilling rig called “Thunderforce” just docked 4 feet behind us. I’m thinking it must be pretty rough out there if all these big boats are coming off the ocean. One of them told us they weren’t motoring any faster than we did yesterday. The only thing smaller in here is a 33 feet Irwin that came in this morning. We look like dinghies. I’m wondering of the trawler can put us on his deck and give us a lift south! And every time a new boat comes in Rick runs out to hep them dock and gets soaking wet again. He loves it!!

The pool was closed today so we didn’t get to soak in the hot tub [which is outside] I think the pool is too! So we went to Brigantine Beach mall and got some groceries and our new internet card so we should be good for a while yet. I found out that Facebook has been sucking out the data by running videos automatically when I log on, so there will be no more videos attempted or watched us. The guy at the Verizon store told me that.

So we are going out for dinner and either watching a movie or maybe we will meet up with some of the boaters and just hang out. The only shows playing are comedians and Rick is not a fan. [You need a sense of humour]

So here are the pics of us shrinking!

Awesome boat, interesting people

And bigger
