Sunday Nov 23

This afternoon, we did some puttering but Rick was getting bored so we went to the coffee shop with Gail and met Brittany and Jonathan from Fire Fly. They are kids who work in Alaska all summer but he is a 100ton captain and has done a lot of boat deliveries all over the world. She gave me and Gail a great recipe for easy bread so we are going to try it tomorrow. We sat in the coffee shop for a long time then we went to the Art Gallery next door. WOW! It’s all local art and it’s amazing stuff!

I found some absolutely beautiful pottery by CAROL ERWIN!!! [for those of you who don’t know, that’s my maiden name and my brother’s wife is Carol Erwin]. I got this woman’s email address and sent her a message. It will be interesting to see if she is a relative.

We spent a long time on the dock talking to Fire Fly and Moon Rebel [English boat] then we went to Mark & Gail’s and watched a movie and ate popcorn! It was another great day!

The storm system is still scheduled for tonight between 10:00 pm and tomorrow morning. The winds are starting to rise now but the temperature is 64F (what is that ...17.5C] which sounds wonderful except that’s what’s feeding the storm system and on Thursday it will be back to 48F which is 9C and cold again.

The ducks are still here and guarding the boats. Apparently they like pumpernickel pretzels and grits that are wet. And they produce a tremendous amount of crap!

So we are going to go to bed and tomorrow I will do laundry and walk through downtown again to the post office and the food store. And maybe find some more pecans that the squirrels might have missed along the route! Rick found a boat consignment store that has some things he needs, so it will be another good day!
