Friday Dec12

Friday  Dec 12

Today was a stationary day. We were waiting to hear from Joseph, who is on his way back to Florida and his boat from Sudbury. He is bringing tuff from Liz’s house for us.

We walked to the grocery store Publix, and then hop-scotched through the two strip malls on the way back. I was looking for gluten free and Rick was looking for hardware. I was looking for a Christmas wreath and some lights but we’ll have to try again tomorrow.

We met a couple heading to New Zealand, Gary and Jules and their teenage daughter, were waiting for a weather window to go “outside” and head to the Caribbean. They have a beautiful ketch that they spent a year working on. Apparently in New Zealand sailboats heading offshore have to pass a government approved survey, and his 80 year old boat was going to cost more to re-survey than a boat here, so they came here and bought an Ingrid 36 boat that they could sail off shore.

We also met a couple, Mike and June, who are opening a new resort in Killarney!! It’s right beside the Sportsman Marina. It’s called Eco-Avalon Marina, I think, and they hope to have it open next summer. I will get more info and post it for you North Channel fanatics!!

We had happy hour with Gail and Mark, and met another Steve, who is the Sailrite sewing machine guru. He is going to help Gail fix her machine and I am going to watch and get some pointers.

Hope everyone is doing well, and to my travelling family...drive carefully, and enjoy the trip.

Tomorrow I need to get more shores done. Gail worked very hard all day and I was a sloth! I need to catch up!

Tonight is going to be cold but after this the temperature is supposed to start going up [away from the zero mark!]

Later...

The Bounty heading to New Zealand
