January 1 2015

January 1, Thursday

This afternoon I sat on the deck and watched a bunch of dolphins fishing around the boats. One of the Steve’s here told me that is the only place [S. Carolina and Georgia] where the dolphins actually force the fish onto the banks and go up the bans after them. Then they wiggle their way back not the water when they’re done. He said he’s actually seen that happen twice.

A couple of boats came in this afternoon and took up the spots left open when the other boats left today.

I spent the day working in the galley and Rick is still working on the freezer but he did manage to finish ripping out the helm station and varnish the trim for one of the shelves he built a while ago.

It’s Thursday and we assumed that it was Pork Chop night at the Fillin’ Station but the bartender wasn’t cooking today because it was New Year’s Day, although the bar was open. But he assured us that he would be cooking steaks tomorrow night.

So we had eggs and toast for supper.
