January 8-10
Wow, did it again! Time flies when we’re having fun!
Or working hard! I spent yesterday making roll-up tool bags for Rick and trying
to finish the cockpit cushions, and helping Rick measurer for shelves and the helm
station. I also prepared a boaters survey for the office.
We went for Pork Chop night on Thursday but it was so
cold none of us wanted to eat outside so we brought the dinners back and had a
group dinner in the sewing room. Last night we got there early enough to grab a
‘table’ and we ate there ...on top of the Karaoke bar and practically in each others’
laps, but it was fun and really good! It
takes two beers from the time the orders go in until the cook brings the
dinners out. This guy, Mark, remembers everyone who orders food and delivers it
to the table. He walks through the crowded bar and hands it to you by name! We all
came back to our boat for ice cream and by then it was boater midnight (8:00
pm)
We still think we will be ready by Wednesday morning
to leave. It is supposed to rain on and ff all week, but it’s not going to be
cold...+/- 60F [18C?] We are waiting for
Wednesday morning so I can be sure I will get to face-time with brother, Jack, when
he gets to London. Besides, we need to get going in the am when the tide is
going out, just to get a boost going past the bridge. But Rick’s projects get
more and more elaborate, so although he keeps saying we have to leave he can’t
seem to stay out of the workshop.
Today I spent the morning at Wal-Mart with Diane and
packing meat when I got home. We shouldn’t need groceries for MONTHS now! And the
freezer is full.
Another boat got away today... Living Well. He is the
summer manager and has been trying to leave since we got here. In fact, when we
arrived, TJ told us we should at least stay ‘til Sunday morning because there
was a bonfire party for Steve & Gloria,
who were leaving the next day. Yeah, right ! Well, today they ripped off the Velcro
and left.
So time to do the dishes. Rick has gone back to the workshop,
with his template for another shelf or cupboard or whatever. So no new pictures
because we’ve shown you pretty much everything we’ve seen around here. As soon
as we start moving the camera will be out again!
So take care all, and stay warm!! Only 69 more days until Spring Solstice! And if
it’s any consolation, we’re a little chilly down here too!
