JAN2-3

January 2-3

If today is Friday then it’s Steak Night...Today I went over to the strip mall and while I was there a man showed up with a horse trailer and some turtles. These are African Land Turtles. He runs a rescue centre in north Carolina and saves turtles that get too big for people to manage [kind of like saving alligators from being flushed when they get bigger than the aquarium] He has 48 of them. He was there to raise awareness about pet shop 'toys'.
This is Ben. He is 50 years old and the man hatched him from an egg. I wasn't keen on watching the kids ride him but apparently Ben doesn't even know they're there.
The freezer works!! We turned it on before we went for dinner and when we came back the ice cubes were frozen!! And now we have ice cream in it!!

This morning I varnished the wood for the pantry walls. It was the old stuff but the finish was worn off and needed to be done. Then I spent the rest of the day in the sewing shop trying to get the cushions finished so I have covered cushions instead of a bag of material that keeps getting moved around!

Rick cut out and fitted the helm station. This will be faster than we thought! We are using the PVC board instead of wood, so it will be lighter and whiter!

Happy Birthday TED!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. We are sitting here with the door open and still wearing shor

ts. It’s very foggy because the temperature is rising. It rains on and off but not cold hard rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be 72 again. [That’s 22 Celcius in case you care.] Just think ...only 77 more days until Spring! And  73 days until March Break!

Gill and I have been following your adventures with great interest. It brings back fond memories of when we were down there like installing a windlass in Brunswick Georgia because I was getting tired of handbombing 100 pounds of chain and anchor almost everyday!! Fond memories:) Happy New Year!
